Cheri Huber is a unique teacher

I use this in therapy practice with some people. Love Cheri Huber and her unique take on some things, as well as her handwritten font. Her books are especially good for people who struggle with self-esteem and negative thinking.

You'll learn about the most powerful (and simple) compassion tool ever!

I love all of Cheri Huber's books, but this is the one that I recommend most to people. Why? Because in this book, she introduces a practice of Recording and Listening that is hands-down the most powerful self-compassion tool I've ever experienced. Using just a recording device and our own voices, we can create loving and encouraging messages for ourselves that are antidotes to the mean and judging messages that loop through most of our minds most of the time. The 30-day workshop in the back of this book leads one through exercises that help us turn our attention to the life we want — and then record about it to anchor in all those insights and compassion.
Here's a quote that I love from the book: "Learning to direct attention to the life experience we choose, a skill essential for 'being in the driver's seat of our own lives ... is literally how we become able to choose happiness."

Cheri Huber is masterful in helping one to see and explore the "voices" that interfere over and over and over. I'm so appreciative of her encouragement to question and explore my daily journey.
