About the Author
Chrystal is a Registered Massage Therapist in British Columbia and the owner of both Aspect Health & Registered Massage Therapy, and Clashes! Eyelash Extensions. While Chrystal has always been an avid learner and casual writer, she wrote her first book The Clashes Eyelash Extension Manual after she fell into the lash extension industry almost by mistake. Chrystal suffered a somewhat traumatic injury to her leg and ankle, which resulted in some permanent changes and chronic pain that meant she could no longer offer massage therapy full-time. With her clinic sitting unused 4-days a week, offering lash extensions seemed like the perfect fit! And she was right, except after doing a little research and then paying heavily (just short of $1000) for a condensed one-on-one course with a seasoned instructor, it turns out the lash extension industry is totally unregulated, which means, there are no consumer guarantees and no set standards for education or practice! The process of applying semi-permanent synthetic lashes includes applying a form of super glue just millimeters from the eyelid. While there are very few reported cases of things going wrong, they certainly can and do happen. Chrystal feels eyelash extension artists should be more knowledgeable and better prepared in case something does go wrong. Throughout her massage therapy education and practice Chrystal has become familiar with the anatomy and physiology of the eyeballs, eyelashes and skin surrounding the eyes. She is well versed on pathological conditions, diseases, contraindications and other reasons why you may not be a suitable candidate for eyelash extensions. Combining current research and previous education Chrystal has pulled together her first book: The Clashes Eyelash Extension Training Manual.

Needs a wider audience

Phelps, who recently won a Nobel Prize for his economics research, wrote this book several years ago and yet it has lost none of its clarity and style. It's chapter/essays, each providing a sharply focused review of a school of economics, is very good. I really wish there were a new paperback version of this for students, journalists, and if they would read it-- politicians. This may not keep you up turning pages to midnight, but if you're interested in the scope economics and how it has developed this a wonderful source.

Bluebeard explores rare chapbooks and their illustrations and the English transformation of Bluebeard into a scimitar-wielding Turkish tyrant in a massively influential melodramatic spectacle in 1798. Following the killer's trail over the years, Casie E. Hermansson looks at the impact of nineteenth-century translations into English of the German fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, and the particularly English story of how Bluebeard came to be known as a pirate. This book will provide readers and scholars an invaluable and thorough grasp on the many strands of this tale over centuries of telling.
